Mad for Manolo

While out shopping recently with friends, the future Mrs. Ewert (aka my friend Sarah) took the rest of us to see the dream wedding shoes she is contemplating. The four of us had lustful eyes for Manolo Blahnik's d'Orsay pumps in raspberry satin~ they could not have been any more beautiful. In fact, the store had the shoe in a bevy of vibrant colours, all lined up and looking like candy. Well, eye candy at least. Turquoise, purple, yellow. Drool.

So what did I (ever so foolishly and impetuously) do? I went and fell in love (like, serious love) with $750 yellow shoes! Now I ask you, what paycheque challenged girl would reasonably allow herself to even look, nevertheless fall for, $750 shoes (and yellow at that, damn you Chris Martin and your beautiful song)? Falling hard for something you seriously can't have is like falling for a married man.
Hello, super off limits!

What can I say? True love~ it's real and it's deep and hey, you know what they say... it strikes you when you least expect it! As for me, perhaps not. As for Sarah... well, we're working on her!

Wedding Party Chic

I can't help it! Now that I know I'm Leah's Maid of Honour I can't stop daydreaming about gorgeous dresses, sparkling jewelry, perfect hair and delicate flowers. And I know I don't need to even mention killer heels! I fell hard for these beautifully styled and glamourous shots on one of my new favourite blogs, Erin Ever After. Aren't these dresses and shoes drop dead amazing?! I would die for either of the grey or black ribbon heels. What an unbelievably chic and fashion forward
wedding party!

Red Rubber Reflections

I had to laugh when I visited my favourite blog, Cupcakes & Cashmere, today. Emily is undoubtedly my style guru. The girl is fearless and bold when it comes to fashion and whether or not I'd wear it myself, she always pulls off the most amazing looks. Therefore I felt utterly vindicated in my style choice when I saw this post today. I received the exact same red Hunter wellington boots for Christmas and have scarcely taken them off since I opened them (even though we have been rain free in Vancouver)! I love throwing on the cheerfully hued rubber boots with my jeans and grey coat and walking out the door!
They may not be the most chic of footwear but they certainly bring a smile to my face.

Now if only it would snow...

ps- I've been dying for these boots since seeing
remember this?

On Christmas morning, in my flannel pj's and new boots!

Steal Versus Splurge~ Booties

My lust for booties has been hot and heavy since this time last year when they first burst onto the fashion forefront. I have to be honest, at first I was fairly appalled by them. I always hated the idea of ankle boots, whether with skirts or tucked under pants.... so what was the difference with booties? Yet as I saw them photographed more and more and then saw them in person in the stores my tide turned. I became a little bit obsessed! These are cousins of the ankle boot but a more chic incarnation~ and they look far more refined with skirts and dresses than the lengthier variety.

Booties are hugely trendy right now and I'm normally hesitant to drop significant cash on something I may not feel like wearing in a few months. I mean, if I had a huge bank balance I would definitely splurge on this platform pair (above) by Louboutin that I mentioned in my last post. However, this is more of a "save" time for me so instead I opted for something a little more affordable. Or a lot more. These faux suede, peep toe cuties (below) are from Forever 21 and set me back a whopping $31. Not an ouch to be heard. I decided to cut off the little side bows to make them more streamlined and now they are perfect and set to wear. The best thing? They are actually comfortable!
This was one smart steal!

I Heart Shoes

Something to lighten the mood after the last post, here are shoes. I love shoes. Shoes shoes shoes. But only pretty shoes like these ones.
Was that light enough?

I'm shoe shopping so leave me a message."
